Reiki & Chakra Balancing
Reiki (pronounced Ray-Kee) originated in Japan as an energetic technique designed to bring a sense of peace and health to the receiver. While not based on any religious belief, it is spiritual in nature as the giver calls upon universal energy to bring healing to a health or emotional issue.
The giver places her hands on or above specific energy points and Chakras on the body and does nothing more than let the wonderful energy flow. The receiver may feel heat or a rush of energy moving from the area, This experience has been described as extremely peaceful and relaxing by most of my clients. A general understanding of the chakra system is helpful for those new to energetic work but is not required.
Reiki has recently been accepted as a adjunct therapy in Western medicine due to well-documented benefits for surgical, cancer, and mental health patients. Most people know emotions and experiences sometimes remain ‘stuck’ in the body. For example, have you ever felt a lump in your throat, tightness in your chest before crying, or butterflies in your stomach when nervous? These are examples of emotional energy welling up in the body and, if not processed properly, can result in a painful and chronic physical manifestation.
Emma has been trained in Massage for PTSD and utilizes several energy-balancing techniques during these sessions as a peaceful way to process trauma. While counseling for PTSD is not in her scope of practice, many clients report a deep feeling of compassionate intention and peacefulness after an energetic session.
Reiki can be added on to any massage service and is a peaceful way to end a massage session! If you have any questions or would like to discuss energy work , please contact Emma Nicholson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
